Not long ago, we reported that SHENZHEN DAYSTAR CONNECT TECHNOLOGY DO., LTD(hereinafter referred to as DAYSTAR) has completed the delivery of 380000 educational computers in the Second District of Thailand, which has attracted the attention of many friends. At the same time, there are also some doubts: why can the unknown company "DAYSTAR" get this big order? Why does the proposal adopt ns115 scheme of new shoreline? With these doubts, the author contacted the new shoreline and interviewed he Sanyu, general manager of chenxingtong. But before that, let's take a look at the education tablet project in Thailand.
Past life and present life of Thailand otpc project
Thailand's otpc project (otpc, i.e. "one child one tablet") is an educational tablet procurement plan proposed by yingluck in 2012. The first pilot sites are located in central, southern, northern and northeastern Thailand. The project procurement is divided into four regions - one region, two regions, three regions, four regions, and regions for global bidding. The first and second district projects are mainly used for the first grade primary school students in central, southern, northern and northeastern Thailand, and the third and fourth district projects are mainly used for the first grade junior high school students in central, southern, northern and northeastern Thailand. The Thai government adopts the way of government bidding and procurement to rapidly popularize the application of E-Book Package in economically developed and backward areas and promote pilot education informatization. Since Thailand's yingluck government came into power, it has begun to implement its otpc plan. In primary and secondary schools in Thailand, the "e-Textbook" held by students has now become a new highlight of Thailand's basic education innovation.
In 2012, domestic hispec won the first batch of procurement cases of 860000 educational tablets in Thailand. Last year Thailand launched a purchase plan for more than 1.2 million educational tablets. Later, Yingtang won the bid for the purchase of 800000 flat plates in the first and second districts of Thailand at the price of THB 1953 (about US $63), but in the end, Yingtang terminated the contract "due to the unstable political situation in Thailand, the poor communication between the two parties, the occupation of the operating cost of the order and other risk factors". This also forced the Thai Ministry of education's tablet purchase plan to be put on hold for a while, and it was not until March this year that it officially began to re tender. Later, it was reported that Haier Group had won the bid for more than 430000 education tablets in Thailand, with the bid price of THB / set in 2011 (about 384.6 yuan). But there are no messages from the second and third sectors.
However, according to the information released by DAYSTAR, Thailand's TTI (Thai transmission industry) company actually won the bid for 380000 educational computers in the Second District of Thailand, and TTI subcontracted the bid to chenxingtong.
Low key DAYSTAR
Compared with the big companies such as Yingtang, Haier and xikepu, DAYSTAR is unknown in the industry, and many people may not have heard of this company before. But in fact, as early as 2008, chenxingtong began to enter the digital industry, and has been engaged in the production and research and development of notebook computers and ultrabooks. Many notebook brands in Southeast Asian countries and regions are commissioned by DAYSTAR. Although it was not until the beginning of this year that DAYSTAR began to enter the tablet market, thanks to its solid foundation and experience in notebook, DAYSTAR quickly gained the recognition of many tablet market customers.
But "for Thailand, we hate and love each other. Love, because it can bring huge capital flow, as well as the significance of publicity, can greatly enhance the company's image. Hate, because it involves all aspects to make such a large order. One carelessly can not earn money and may cause huge losses. Secondly, because it is the order of the Thai government, it requires a lot and is very strict, such as product quality, delivery time and so on. Finally, when the order quantity reaches a certain scale, the purchase price will be pressed to death and the profit space will be very limited. ”Said he Sanyu, general manager of chenxingtong. "So when we took this order, we didn't disclose it to the public, until the delivery was successfully completed in late July." "I don't like it. It's not in line with our company's culture to publicize things without doing them. Because only when things are really done can customers come to you. "
